I am a mixed media artist working across many forms including but not limited to writing, installation, performance and works on paper. Through my work I explore my identity and my role and thoughts on society. I generate playful personal narratives using quirky humorous symbolism inspired by advertising, history and politics.
I currently work with and create digital and analogue collages and drawings. With a focus on recycled materials and found imagery I utilise resources associated with mass production, media saturation and waste.
Through my work I seek to explore and provoke thoughtful conversations about current themes such as global warming, popular culture and what it means to be Australian.
Influenced by the narrative of medieval artists such as Hieronymus Bosch I enjoy creating fantastical collaged creatures and landscapes. These are regularly based on the human condition, religion and our relationship to the environment.
Repurposing found images enables me to explore themes of place and belonging, commenting on society and its restrictive social and political structures.
